If you are concerned that black people are more violent and it's a pressing issue, why don't you do something positive about it instead of looking to create ill will on C-D, like tutor black kids, or visit prisoners, or somehow get involved in a black community that needs good people, good role models, to lend a hand. Maybe you already do... do you?

LEWISTON — In the early evening on the first day of summer, a large group of Somali boys approached a woman on the corner of Ash and Pierce streets. According to police reports, they intimidated the woman and slapped her in the back of the head before scattering into the downtown.
Five days later, shortly after midnight, a man was accosted by a group of Somali boys outside the Big Apple on Main Street. Police reports say several members of the group punched the man and took money from him. They then fled in a car.
Later that night, a woman in her late 60s was beaten by a group of Somali boys and relieved of cash while walking in Kennedy Park.
Five nights later, another man was jumped by a group of similar description. He resisted the gang and was beaten badly. He required surgery.
Why are "some" immigrants unable to adapt to civilization??..
When will the o.p. start posting threads on the behaviors of other people??

You don't like the news reporst of Black-on-Black violence so you decide to create a thread blaming the ENTIRE population of Black Americans for the actions of the few bad apples?
As someone who has personally mentored and tutored children (Black American, Hispanic American and ESL students) I can honestly say that it is important to lead by example and show these children that they do have options in life; and hopefully this will effect change.

I don't have time for all that, raise your own kids. It's not a question of not liking the news reports, that what you guys do. Blame the media for actually reporting the news. I blame the incidents and the culture that produces them.
It makes no sense that 12% of the population is responsible for 50% of this country's murders. It makes no sense that 12% of the population makes up more than 50% of this country's prisons.

The outrage is not at the race of the criminal, but at the immense proportion of crime certain group commit. For example, there might be a few hundred Somali immigrants in a certain city, yet they will cause more violent crime compared to others groups that number in the thousands.

During this summer one refrain I would hear over and over on Black talk radio is that the city needs more rec centers and pools to keep violence, in particular these flash mobs in check.
I found that to be absurd. What these kids need is home training and seeing a community where adults actually act like adults.
I really don't blame these kids look at their role models?

Like I said, it's a matter of proportion. While whites have problems just like any other race, the numbers doesn't affect their whole population the same way it does to the black community which are about 1/4th of the white population.
