Get your panties out of a wad, the test has been shortened to 30 seconds.
It's not really a duplicate thread. Yours was factual. TV and radio only, no craziness. Actually it would be good if they could put an alert on the internet. Lots of people don't have a radio or tv on at any given time.

How boring might my life be if I actually find this mildly exciting and look forward to it the same way I get all excited to see meteor showers (which incidentally, usually turn out to suck most of the time)?

1400 EST. Can't wait.

If this is true OMG he needs to be out of the White House 2012.

Claiming this is a test of the emergency response system, the terror alert system, and any other excuse they can come up with, Fema (that would be the same FEMA in charge of those camps they deny exist) will conduct a complete communications shutdown: all TV, radio, internet, and phone systems will be disabled simultaneously. This will be at 1:00 CST.

I am trying to figure out what kind of national emergency would require cutting all communications, broadcasts and internet use? Maybe an emergency in which the government itself feels threatened by …….the people?

Tomorrow will be the nation wide shut down of communications | Drudge Retort (http://www.drudge.com/news/150143/tomorrow-nation-wide-shut-down - broken link)
This could be what many of us think it is and then it could be just a test. If we are right and the progs are wrong we will be seeing it happen again by late spring when the proclamation of martial law is declared because of riots by the late comers among the occupiers. Also, I believe that in early spring there well may be some more racial flash mobs going into gear.

I certainly hope that you and I are wrong and the progs are right.

Has it ever been done before? Like the tests for the emergency broadcast on TV? It's worth a shot I suppose.

I'll be interested to see if it works.

Never thought there could be one button that would shut communication down.

I just looked all over the place for an official reference to this. I only see other forums mentioning that this will effect all communications. Officially it is only the TV and Radio.

FEMA: Nationwide EAS Test

So if you have an official link, meaning a gov link or a link to an actual real media link for it, please do post that.
