I think the USA is trying to make up for past transgretions ie Vietnam Although I never got spat upon or called baby killer I knew people who had. In the words of Forrest Gump Thats all I have to say about that

What an ignorant post. First off, the ship is at the pier in their homeport. That means no fuel is being used to carry basketball players out on the ocean. Secondly, the setup for the game is by ESPN and the college basketball organization. Third, the game is paid for by advertising money for the televised game. Guys play basketball onboard aircraft carriers all the time as part of the recreation available.
