tell me Hot air, how do we progress as a society and create jobs without someone leading the way? Where would we be as a society without the Carnegies, Fricks, Fords, Gates, and even the Buffets? Of course you never can respond to me because you dont like people who think differently than you do.

and btw, I watched Atlas Shrug last night and began reading the book "I am John Galt" this evening.
Sorry, Ayn Rand, but you're a hypocrite. She had help on her way to success just like every other successful person has. No successful (wo)man is an island.

Oh bull****. I'm a liberal and I believe in immigration laws. As long as they are fair and enforced!

I believe he used a broader brush. He said liberals don't believe in the word illegal, as if liberals don't believe in laws. This is the idiocy that we are getting from the extreme right, and they wonder why nobody takes them seriously.

No one ever said the success doesnt have help. Buffet and Gates alone employ 1/2 a million individuals who help them obtain wealth which

Good, so we agree that one can not become successful without someone helping them in some way, right?

Helping people obtain wealth isnt done as charity. One helps the other in exchange for payment, which has me wondering why so many on the left dont want these 500,000 people to be un-employed.

Even Ayn Rand recognized that the railroad tycoon wasnt going to lay down new tracks on her own and the trains didnt drive themself.

I don't think she's hypocritical, here's the part of the transcript from the video where she touches on this. Part three around the 45 second mark:

Quote:
You are married? Yes. Your husband, is he an industrialist?

No. He's an artist. His name is Frank O'Conner.

He paints. No, he's not a writer. Does he live from his painting?

He's just beginning to study painting. He was a designer before.

Is he supported in his efforts by the state?

Most certainly not.

He's supported by you for the time being?

No, by his own work actually in the past.

By me if necessary, but that isn't quite necessary.

There is no contradiction here, in that you help him.

No, because you see I am in love with him selfishly.

It is to my own interest to help him if he ever needed it.
