That sounds plausable but it does NOT HOLD WATER>... Obamas first year in office the Dems controlled both houses.. he was able to push through Health Care reform... so in fairness, he had no serious desire to cut the defecit..

That doesn't work. Cutting spending AND taxes got us out of two depressions.

I struggle when I see sentences as this.

You keep spending without income, the deficit increases. It isn't rocket science. Reducing the spending (and the increased taxes that come with that spending) would reassure the ones that are doing the hiring. With the exception of the federal government, which has become the elephant in the room.
Genius of an argument. Here's your formula to calculate deficit:
Deficit = Spending

And here's mine
Deficit = Income - Spending

Have you ever had an income?

BTW, you are the one citing "such a downturn", not me.
Something that you believe never happened, I'm sure. How far did you have your head stuck?

Whether the Super Group comes up with a deal or not, the deficit will be cut thus meeting Obama's statement about the deficit by end of 1st term.

To use YOUR words, CITE where Ron Paul has loser policies? Can't wait to hear this spin.

Ron Paul told us about the housing collapse AND the reasons why years before it happened. He told us to expect a 9/11 attack AND the reasons why. He flat out nailed the best path to foreign and domestic policy yet YOU call him a loser?
The only losers are the Americans who have to live through the horrible mess this crooked administration has caused. No answers just more of the same yet you say Ron Paul is a loser.
Wake up

If So,
I have little confidence in the Super Committee... why must everything wait until the last minute?!?! Both parties are spending more time blaming the other side than trying to hammer out a deal. They sux.. they really do.

Well, a lot of things happened. He wanted to let the tax cuts on the top 5% expire. That didn't happen. He wanted the congress to work on restructure, that did not happen. He wanted the Congress to work on economic growth, that did not happen. He proposed budgets that would have reduced deficit from $1.4 T (2009, one he inherited) to $768B (2013, one that would be passed thru next term/President). That didn't happen.

He did, what is expected of the Presidents. The question should be, what did the Congress do?

That's the entire problem. Quit looking to the ones who caused this mess foreign and domestic, to get us out of it. They haven't done a very good job now have they?

That dog don't hunt. He had a super majority and he spent like there was no tomorow.
What were his first actions as president?
Was it to pass a balanced budget? NO
was it to eliminate pork spending? NO
Was it to pass tax changes? NO
It was to pass the porkulous and a health care bill that does very little to control the rising costs of medical care.
He had the chance to implement very real change, change that would have made a difference.

No he did not have a filibuster-proof congressional super majority. The GOP has shown us this by abusing the filibuster more than anyone in history.

To save the nation from the brink of total collapse caused by Bush and the republicans. We were on a complete downward spiral that Obama luckily was able to level off.

The healthcare bill wasn't passed until 2010, typical of right wingers to be uninformed.

He has done quite a bit to better the country, but when you have a major player like McConnell stating that their main agenda is to get Obama out of office, sabotaging absolutely everything the dems and Obama try to do to better the country, there is a major damper put on moving the country forward when the GOP wants to destroy it for their own political agenda.
