There are a fair amount of doctors on the right, but people with post graduate degrees tend to be on the left, including people with professional degrees. For example Trial lawyers are famous for backing the Democratic party.

The professional left are the folks that always intended to get into government and education so that they would eventually "make a change" while most on the right just want to live their lives the way they know how and take care of their families and save for their retirements. Those on the right feel they've been forced to enter the swamp just to keep/save what used to be a dream they had when they were growing up.

The strange part is that the professional left actually champions things that have been in implementation for hundreds of years while those on the right tend to want the small government, and less intrusion in to their lives, that only existed after the FF'ers left their tyrant king. The left is actually the status quo that they claim they're not while the right looks for a time period which barely existed.

The whole system looks like electromagnetic-radiation sine waves with each spectrum just slightly out of phase from each other. There's a reason for that...
