It doesn't address the issue raised, which is the assertion that our tax system is unfair. But let's continue to personalize the debate, it's not about the issues right. I also didn't realize that you were a millionaire, we seem to have quite a few on this forum.
$1,000,000.00 today is worth less than 90% of what it was worth in 1973.
A return to sound monetary policy and fiscal responsiblity are required as well as scrapping the current tax system and starting over.
Confiscate all the wealth of the nation's billionaires and millionairs and you still don't pay off the US debt. That illustrates how misguided is this "patriotic millionaires".
That's the equivalent of telling someone who doesn't like air pollution to fix their own car if they don't like it, I don't think we want to use the honor system to solve governments problems.
There may actually be people who disagree with them, but, if they are so convinced they are right, they should put their money where their mouth is.
A government can't control the economy without controlling people. And they know when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. They also knew, those Founding Fathers, that outside of its legitimate functions, government does nothing as well or as economically as the private sector of the economy.
