1. No spending cuts - We are already in a hole so deep it will take a century or more to get out of. At this rate of spending we are Greece in just a few years.
2. Not big enough - That's the left's answer to why their projects fail. We didn't spend enough. They keep spending more and more on education and the scores keep dropping. The last stimulus was supposed to keep unemployment under 8% and it didn't...Infrastructure - The last stimulus put up 2 stoplights in my town as well as fixing the curbs on some streets. Where in the world does the federal government get the power to spend on these things?
3. Tax the super rich - You can confiscate the wealth of the super rich and it still won't cover the deficit for one year.
4. Yes, military cuts willl save money. But what is this corporate welfare that he speaks of? I'd like a clear and concise definition.
I think many, if not most would consider that comparision a compliment more than an insult.
Absolutely. When someone criticizes FDR as a terrible president, they lose instant credibility. The Reich has a great nuts and bolts plan. He is not saying raise the deficit. He is saying lets have an increase in spending to create jobs and lets charge it to the people who have benefitted the most from living in this country. Sounds like a good economic plan to get the U.S. back on track.
Right now unemployment is high - which means less tax money is coming into the treasury. Yet we should continue spending money at the same levels? Actually, we are increasing the rate of spending right now. We can't cut foreign aid? We can't cut green energy subsidies that's based on unproven technology? Plus - it's hard to keep score without a budget.
2. Make the boost big enough.
Again - we are bring in less money, yet we are supposed to boost spending with jobs programs. The government should not be responsible for putting people to work. They can aid in productivity. Productivity should be the goal - not employment. Employment will take care of itself if productivity is the focus.
3. Pay for this by raising taxes on the super rich.
There is no budget framework to work from. Why should we believe the tax money will be spent properly. Also, don't agree with taxing the rich a certain segment of the population
4. Cut where the real bloat where it is - military and corporate welfare.
We should not cut from the ONE thing that we know is the government's responsibility, which is defending Americans. If it's wasteful, then OK. Cut corporate welfare - OK - does that include Solyndra and other green energy ventures that received over $20B Dept. of Energy dollars? What hypocrites. The repeatedly call for ending corporate welfare while doing that exact thing for their friends.

Where is the evidence that such "a good economic plan" has ever worked in the past? If a trillion-dollar stimulus didn't do the trick how much is it going to take?
