Indeed, but despite the mild temperatures the sunshine distribution over the year becomes more extreme the further north you go. Can be depressing in the winter...

Amusing thread. You do realize that if you're poor in these "awful Nordic socialist hell holes" you would not care what the climate was?

Shelter is provided for you unless you refuse and choose to live outside.

You'll get free education to get you out of poverty.

By the way. Europe is still not a country just because of EU.

The US has to be the only country in the world where you get a free cell phone when you're on food stamps. https://www.safelinkwireless.com/Safelink/ The things my taxes pay for make me ill.

Ssshhhhh...I only read these threads to be entertained by their ignorant/troll comments about Europe, I wouldn't bother coming to the Politics board if they actually knew what they were talking about

Working poor in Europe
They can't, it's not like socialist Norway has open borders. They have some of the most strict and racist policies on the planet for their immigration requirements.

This is where the rubber meets the road with socialist.

So immigrants move into a homogenous country and find it difficult to find work?

How is this racist?

You need to look over the requirements to even get there. It doesn't explicit say blonde hair and blue eyes but there are "family" requirements and lots of them.

I'm sure it's a nice place to live with a bunch of blonde hair blue-eyed women running around but it's also the exact opposite of the way the world is going with integration. The world will eventually look like America, not Norway.

That doesn't even touch on the fact that their social safety net is heavily funded by huge oil resources (that are on the decline) and it's going to be a huge problem for them to continue with their "freebies" as time goes on.

That's not unusual. By far the largest percentage of legal immigrants to the US have a claim on residency only through family relations as well. The fact of the matter is, it's damn hard to emigrate to just about any first-world country.
