It would seem that one of the main things OWS is against is taxpayers being stuck with the bailout-bill for corporations, yes?
Yet, OWS is causing cities across the nation to bleed their budgets into law enforcement, fire dept, EMS and other public service hours that were unbudgeted as they have to work the OWS demonstrations. At the end of the day it will be the taxpayer again stuck footing the bill.
So, what has been accomplished aside from hypocrisy unless the goal is to overthow this nation in a economic coupe one municipality at a time?
OWS was never really about anything other than ignorant college age kids protesting "the establishment". Unsurprisingly their protests were primarily directed at private enterprise rather than the corrupt government that encouraged and facilitated the abuses of greedy corporations.
The movement as a whole is utterly indifferent to the hardships they are causing ordinary working people and the municipalities in which they live and work. It's all about generating outrage with no regard to directing that outrage at the actual causes of the issues the temporarily useful idiots are protesting.
In the end nothing will be accomplished. It will be just another financial drain on a system that is already essentially bankrupt. The opportunistic career politicians that initially offered support will do their utmost to distance themselves from the mess they helped create. Our agenda driven media will do their best to insulate the politicians from the fallout. Our inattentive voters will continue to keep the corrupt politicians in office.
the OWS crowd wants the end of capitalism, and a change to communism. they want the government to do everything for them, including give them a job and pay their student loans. unfortunately these children have never studied anything about the old soviet union and what really went on behind the iron curtain. but then again these children grew up idolizing che guevuara.
