IMO, the Republican do not give a tinker's dam_ who occupies the White House. If the hold on to the House and get a couple more in the Senate, it does not matter who the POTUS is. They can do what they please, which is to reign over every bedroom in the country.

I was doing some reading the other day and discovered, if you add up all the money that goes to defense from all budgets, they are getting 54% of income. The R's will probably up that.

I look forward to the endless threads on CD of angry neo-progressive Obamatrons trying to pressure independent liberals back on the team.

"Who else you gonna vote for?"
"What did you expect with such opposition?"
"Needs 4 more years to untangle Bush's mess."

I hope they'll play more excuses than just this tired lot.

We have slowly weened the Fascist from the Republican party. 2010 saw a real direction change within the party. 2012 will only get more Fascist from the republican ranks.

Will we get all of them, probably never. RINO's and Neocon's, get elected by Rino's and Neocon's.
Legislating morality, has been a Progressive goal for over 100 years.

There are a bunch of folks out here like myself who are neither R or D due to the hard line adopted by the "base".

I will vote for Ron Paul in the primary. If another candidate prevails, I will not vote in the POTUS race. Or I will figure whatever Obama is or does, it cannot be as bad as the Republicans currently in DC.

We are going down the toilet at warp speed. I don't have any interest in the national motto, or ridding the nation of birth control. Jobs and interest are the priority.

Both sides would take us all down in order to get a leg up in the next election.
Ron Paul is a republican in case you didn't notice or didn't know.

Are there any potential candidates you would support or are you going to chose to vote along party lines even given your current dissatisfaction? Do you honestly believe Obama's performance will get better if you help to elect him to another term?

I am quite curious to understand the mindset of some here. I, for example, hated what Clinton did to our military but actually thought he did an acceptable job as President. He did actually compromise with the right in the best interest of our country on several issues even while I may have disagreed with some of his policies. But, overall, his willingness to go to the center was in the best interest of our country. Do you believe we can achieve this again and with who?

Do you have a source for that figure?

I have to admit that I was somewhat disappointed with Obama especially in 2009-2010, though to be fair I have low expectations of all politicians. With that said I think he is doing a better job then any of the Republicans could so I will vote for him again in 2012.
