No question: Center right.

To many Euros, Obama is not nearly as liberal as he would need to be in order to be considered left on the dividing line. He is certainly a far, far distance away from being truly left.

US republicans, on the other hand, are often seen as crazy, stuck in the past, nationalistic, and xenophobic. They'd be grouped together with something likes Germany's NDP - at least when it comes to social policyy. Not that current republicans have the slightest idea of these perceptions.

You don't understand much about politics outside the United States, do you? Of course Obama would be in a centre right party in Europe: he's very much in the centre here in this country, he's not even in the left wing of the Democratic Party.

There is truth in what you say because many don't truly understand exactly how far left the left actually extends.

So, pretty much what I gather about where would Obama fall, it depends on who you ask.

Labour voter: Obama would probably be center-right in the Tories
Tory voter: Obama would probably be in the center or center-left in Labour

American liberal: Obama is not left wing, he's centrist or center-right
American conservative: Obama is far out in left field.

Summing it up, where Obama falls depends on what your political bias is

So here's something I've always wondered. If that's the case, (and I'm not disagreeing with you) why are the Christian Democrats called that if they don't discuss religion? I know that Christian Democracy is a core part of their ideology, but I always wondered how that worked in a largely secular continent with multiple Christian Democratic parties.
Some of their values are based on Christianity but since religious issues are not much discussed in Germany you wouldn't even notice that they are Christian. They don't claim that God spoke to them or that all Muslims are evil or that there is an anti-Christian agenda. They don't include God in their speeches etc.

I am from Germany so I don't fall in any of that category. Why wouldn't Obama fit into the German CDU or FDP?

Hmm his current policies are closer to the UK Conservative party's than Labour (Bear in mind Labour are now a centre right party in the UK). I'd say he's slightly to the left of the UK tories.
