My city had a bridge nearly paid for (funded) prior to construction. A millionaire Senator (soon to retire at the time) wanted his name on it and appropriated the federal tax dollars to build it instead (clue: see Kit Bond). Progressives will always spend other people's money regardless of their personal wealth or affiliated party.

With all due respect, I think what one does with his/her own money is no one else's business when it comes to charitable contributions. I know Obama is trying to eliminate the charitable tax deductions so people will be less inclined to give. Progressives think that the government knows best how to spend our money.

Correction...they SAY they want to give away their money. Those 2 dozen that traveled to DC to beg for higher taxes..why didn't they just write checks ?

Why do all these millionaires that want higher taxes not write checks if they feel they make too much money ? I wish some reporter would ask Buffet that one.
