Damn. Surprised how many supporters there are. I use it here and there, but not particularly proud of it. It just happens and I think it sounds uneducated. And who really wants their 10 year old saying it. Sure its just a word, we "should" be able to say it, but do we really want everyone to walk around spewing it all the time, from little kids to professional adults? There is a time we need to stop saying "ITS MY RIGHT!" and be a bit civilized.

Can you just imagine going into a deal with a professional and them just saying, "F**CK YOUR CONTRACT!" like its no big deal.

What about the 1st Amendment..?
Burning the flag is "free speech ",but using the F-word leads to penalties..?
Has anybody thought of taking the issue to the Supreme Court..?
Should the F-word be "legalised " ..?
I don't see why not. It's a perfectly good Anglo-Saxon word and that's been around for centuries. Few words in the English language are so expressive, and so versatile.

As for your comparison, one is highly protected because it is political speech, the other qualifies for time and place restriction because of the alleged bad influence on minors. Two different standards.

Generally speaking I can usually manage to offend anyone I choose at will without the use of the f-bomb but It's just another word and see no reason to ban it.

Nope...our society has fallen far enough. No more....
If our society is so fragile that it can be brought down by the use of a mere cussword, then it doesn't deserve to survive.

"I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further." Darth Vader

Does it seem any nicer without the use of the F-word?

Absolutely no comparison betweeen the F-word & the N-word.

The F -word describes the biggest pleasure of life,it is almost all the times positive, while the N -word is racist & always negative...

Absolutely it should be allowed. We have freedom of speech and the press guaranteed to us by our founding document, and the censorship powers of the FCC are an abomination.

I think the only reason it is the way it is is because of the timing involved when radio and TV were invented. Our society at that time was much more puritanical, and accepted restrictions because they didn't have the mindset to think otherwise. The idea that the airwaves are "limited" and are owned by "the public" has since been proven to be false by technological advances.

Courts have rightly found that content, with a very few exceptions such as child porn, cannot be regulated on the Internet, or on cable or satellite broadcasts, or any other means of transmission, aside from AM, FM, and TV frequencies. This "special" status really has to go, as it serves no function, and is antithetical to the Constitution.

Standards change. None of us have the right to maintain our subjective experience across generations.

I'd love for things to be like they were in my childhood in the 70's, but it's not going to happen.

Resistance to change is futile. Why do you think conservatives are so pissy all the time?

The FCC should have one job, and one job only - managing radio frequencies. Everything else they do is superfluous.
