I just can't believe this is about to happen. Am I reading this right? The Republican Party will be committing political suicide if it does this. They are going to become the raise-taxes party for 47 percent of Americans. How could they possibly think that's a winning strategy?
any body who thinks America has a poor problem are truly idiots. go to Mexico. don't need to travel to far to see the idiocy. every single human living in America is benefiting. why not be socialist about it and have everyone in America contribute.

Sad. But that's where we're at America. F*** YOU! I GOT MINE! This attitude isn't sustainable for any society.
So that even what little they have will be taken away from them...What else to expect from the former Party of Lincoln.

A lot of homeless people have a mental illness. Others you will not find walking the streets asking for money, but if you go to the local library during the daytime, there is a good chance that there is a homeless person there...especially in the winter time when it gets cold. Most of the shelters kick them out early in the morning.

If you want to find a homeless person, go to a shelter. The sad cases are the ones where their whole family is there.

Republicans will finally start visiting homeless shelters when they realize there is a buck to be made by doing so. Just think of how much tax revenue there is to be made by taxing panhandling. Why should the "bums" get a free ride? They need to pay their "fair share" on every dollar they get from begging, right?

It just seems wrong to most Americans to take a percentage of milk out of a baby's mouth. Don't think that there is a special rich guy tax rate for Bill Gates though. There's not. He pays the same great rate as the rest of us on his first $10,000.
Well of course because I have a dollar, doesn't mean it was taken from you. Of course a flat tax doesn't take anything away from anyone. I think this posters line of reasoning should be instructive to the rest of us. He seems to believe all money is the governments. They only decide what we can keep, and what we should use it for.

All his said. Your original premise, as you now admit, was wrong.

Cheers!

That's not what I said at all, shore. I said that for tax purposes, the first $10,000 a person makes is treated differently than the third million one makes. The reason for this is simple. It is presumed that the first $10,000 is going to go toward necessities. The third million is going to go toward luxuries.

Again, every single American is taxed the exact same rate. They all get taxed the same percentage on the first $10,000, and they all get taxed the same percentage of the third million. Can we acknowledge this and drop the stupid talk about the "rich" being taxed unfairly now? They pay the same rates everyone else pays.
