The way any politician fixes the economy is to get the government out of it's way.
Mitt or whoever the Obama replacement WILL BE in 2012 needs to reduce government employees since they are a drag on tax dollars. He needs to cut the size and scope of government.
If he gets Republican majorities he should repeal Obama care.

I like Huntsman a lot. I've said this in several other threads - I really wish he had a chance in the Republican primaries/caucuses.

I still think Romney is more likely than Huntsman to be able to beat Obama though.

No. The extreme liberals will call it Obama's success - it'll just be something that "took time." Some of the more moderate ones, perhaps.

Funny thing is, none of it really hinges on the President. No president can create trillions in lost equity, and hundreds of thousands of excess homes. Unless the government could buy up all the bad mortgages, and demolish the unbought spec. homes, it is going to be a slow slog. When we get through it, the economy will begin recovering that will not happen before fall 2012, but it has nothing to do with Obama. Blaming this recession on Obama's policies is intellectually dishonest. It would be the same if Romney was in office.

I'm not extremely well versed in American politics yet, but from the little i've seen of Mitt, I'd be extremely scared if he were to become president. But to be honest, what would help the most would be some actual common unity between the two parties. If the Republican leader becomes president in 2012, he may end up seeing the same resistance Obama has the last 3 years. And that's not good for anyone.

Become more well versed then... because this country can't survive 4 more years of Obama.

Actually, we just don't agree that his economic policies have failed. It's sort of tough to argue that they have, when he took office during a massive recession which ended soon after his stimulus bill passed. The entire argument seems to consist of vague assertions that Obama somehow "ruined" the economy.

No it can't. We will experience a great famine and become a third world nation receiving food drops from other countries, natural disasters will fall upon us, and then we will be completely taken over by China and forced to worship Buddha and bow to the communist flag. Obama is such a threat to the U.S.!
