I would go to a mom and pop shop before I go to Starbucks. I have only drank Starbucks a few times and I never thought it was really that good.

Besides, I make my own coffee at home with whole beans and a coffee press. So really I guess I don't support one over the other.

I will add though that Starbucks whole beans coffees sold in package in a store is quite delicious.

As for Wal-Mart, I had an employee be rude to me and haven't been there since. I used to work there and actually liked working there but she made me mad so now I use my dollars to speak for me. If she hadn't been a jerk then HEB wouldn't be getting my money now.

What gets me about this thread is the number of people who claim they went to Starbucks and actually ordered a cup of plain coffee. I go to Starbucks 3 times a week, and have for nearly 8 years, and I've never seen anyone order a cup of plain coffee. People go there for their blended coffee drinks---lattes, mochas, cappuccinos, frappuccinos, espressos, and blended chai tea lattes, etc., etc. If all a person wants is a cup of generic coffee for a buck, you're not going to be a fan of Starbucks. If you like to try different favored, blended coffee drinks Starbucks will be call you back time and time again.

Lots of people prefer to eat their calories. I'm one of them. I like the bakery items, and drink plain coffee. I rarely drink calories of any sort, except for the occasional orange juice or alcoholic drink.

If I order a mocha, it's 300+ calories. Leaves no room for the pumpkin bread. I've weighed between 145 and 150 for a long, long time. I couldn't maintain my weight if I slurped down a 1000 calorie venti caramel whatever they call it.

You must not be going to the same Starbuckses (?) that I go to. I almost always order a plain cup, and I go quite frequently, as there's one in my grocery store and one in my Target.

That's largely because most people that appreciate decent value and think $4.00 for a cup of coffee is foolish, don't make the mistake of going there twice. If I'm paying $4.00 a cup for something, it's gonna have alcohol in it.

Peppermint mocha is why.

Also, patronise, not patronize.

Both are correct, but patronize is the common American spelling.

Starbucks is known for its strong coffee.... Majority of Starbucks patrons are middleclass and upper middle class patrons. It really has nothing to do with estrogen.

Go to Starbucks.com and complain about them not accepting the Starbucks card. They're very strict on their policies and actually follow up with the stores on every complaint.
