As a conservative, It's become pretty clear to me that here on CD we have quite a few people who would have blamed the Titanic sinking and the Hindenburg explosion on racism had they been alive at that time. It always seems to be the same people who throw out the blanket stereotype of "racist" when they can't back up their personal feelings about something.

Do you think that uneducated people use claims of racism as a crutch when they're left with no other way out of a conversation? I don't see many well educated people throwing around claims of racism constantly, only people with relatively low intelligence and/or education.

There are some cases of racism but in a great number of cases... its simply to try to deflect failure rather than facing one's shortcomings... its not limited to blacks but applies to other races as well...

You left off the category for those who complain they are labeled racist when in fact they aren't being labeled that way.

I don't think it has as much to do with ignorance/lack of intelligence as it does with being used as a crutch, copout, and general lack of accountability in our society.

There is certainly racism, but there is also a group of people who know how to exploit the concept of racism for their own advantages (the Al Sharptons of the world for example).

The thing that strikes me is sometimes claiming racism leads to racism. It's a catch 22
