The non-religious (not necessarily Atheist) position is the only "neutral" one. It is the only one that allows this "freedom to choose" and "freedom of choice" you speak of.
This is the neutral belief system.
It is also Biblical in that God also, says to choose, no one is forced one way or the other. It is hoped for, but not mandated to do.
LOL. I agree - I just don't feel it's that big of a problem from a religious freedom standpoint.
you do understand the intent behind posting the 10 commandments instead of the generic and obvious rules espoused by some of the 10 commandments right?
Who is the plaintiff? Why is the person's name not mentioned? It's not like they are a rape victim? Let's hear what the student and his parent have to say about one person's beef over-ruling the majority? All I'm seeing is the names of some whiny lawyers.
I think this calls for a community leader to assemble the community and stage a protest at the local office of the ACLU and maybe even at the kid's house to keep the Commandments...you know, as the voice of the people.

Yet another clueless poster. "Overruling the majority." Typical Bible belter. I hope you realize that the entire purpose of the Constitution was to protect the minority from majority viewpoints being imposed upon them.

Of course I do. I don't like it - I was simply saying I find other violations of religious freedom to be worse.
But its the "thou shall have no other God before me" part that people have a problem with?
Yes, because it means that people who worship Jesus of Nazareth are violating this prohibition against worshiping other than the one, true G-d.
