Didn't we do, what we did in Iraq, to Iran years ago, when we picked the Shaw way back in the 50's?
Our meddling over there, has made many enemies.
The 6 day war solved many problems and created more.
Seems we did this in Panama recently, too.
Oh ya, wasn't there a Honduran revolt recently, we had a hand in placing the leader?
The whole incident with removing Mossadegh and installing the Shah is one of the most shameful incidents in our history relative to foreign policy...maybe THE most shameful. The Iranians have every right to be p*ssed for eternity for that incident as far as i'm concerned. We never should've gotten involved with the British in Iran the way we did.
As to whether or not we've done it again, time will most certainly tell. There is a difference though...Saddam wasn't a popularly elected president. Still though, it wasn't our job to remove him from power.

That was Britain, actually.
Britain chose King Faisal to rule the "Iraqis" (and I use the term loosely because there really aren't any). Faisal was a Sunni Muslim and a Saud (the Saud Tribe) from Saudi Arabia.
Makes a lot of sense to put a Sunni from another country in charge of a large Shi'a majority.
Faisal got upset because the Anglo-Iraqi Oil Company was stealing all the profits, so the US murdered him in cold blood and replaced him with General Qasim, who apparently didn't get it that Faisal was offed for fuming about the oil profits, so when he started fussing about the oil profits, the US murdered General Qasim in cold blood as well.
And that is how the Baathist Party came to power, and then later with the help of the US, Saddam Hussein came to power.
As far as Panama, that country exists because of US treachery.
Panama was a Colombian province. The Colombians wanted to build a canal through the Panamanian Isthmus, but lacked the engineering expertise. They did have the Capital and were willing to go in 50-50 with the US and share profits.
The US smelled profits, and then sent mercenaries to the Province of Panama to murder people and whip them into a frenzy, then declared independence, then sent in the marines and the navy to threaten the Colombians if they attempted to overthrow the phony rebellion.
That's how Panama came to be a country.

Well, you know, sharing the oil profits was out of the question, because the fragile economies of the US and UK would have puff up and blown away, and then both countries would have burned down, fallen over and sank into a swamp. Or I guess the UK would just sink into the Atlantic.
