I am so for a deposit tax on all Ciggies. If people are so compassionate about either the environment or helping the homeless..........well, this tax is for you.............even if you are a smoker.
I think that every state should mandate a deposit tax that would get reimbursed at recycling centers. Better yet......make it a FEDERAL mandate due to the horrible impact the TRILLION of butts have on the countries environment.

Well, I personally believe that there are SOME functions of government that are worthwhile and necessary. Dealing with a problems created by Filtharette smokers is probably only going to work if big Brother gets involved.
I mean come on, do smokers actually believe that all of the butt-litter thrown all over the place IS NOT a problem that should be dealt with??????
Oh great soon I will not only have to remember to lock the truck at nite but also to bring in the ash tray so some crack head dont break a window for some gov butt money.
No, cigarette smokers are already taxed way above their effect on society. 6 dollars for a pack is just to damned much. Either outlaw it, or lower the taxes back to a reasonable level.
Whats next? Tax people that eat fast food more for disposing the wrappers? Beer cans? etc.
with all the taxes paid on those butts I figure the gov already owns them not the smokers. Go pick up your butts OP you own them.
