Pigs are smarter than dogs, can be quite cute...but taste good.
So we should eat them.

Dogs are dumber than pigs, can be quite cute...and might taste good.
So we shouldn't eat them.

Makes sense.

Have a good day.

In that case, you already know the issues...why did you ask:

How incredibly sad.
Whats the benefit here?
You should know the benefit, as many others have posted.

I'm opposed to the slaughter of any animal. However, I have a great deal of difficulty making a moral distinction between the killing of a "companion" animal, and the killing of a food-source animal. For the most part, that distinction has varied by geography, custom, and the scarcity of the normal food supply. We seem to have created a hierarchy of species' value, based largely upon our own psychological and emotional needs.

Why stop there? There are plenty of unwanted children in the world too. Why let their meat go to waste? Kill two birds with one stone, ya know?

By the way, do you eat dog meat and if not, why not? Do you own a pet dog? Why not just slaughter him for Sunday dinner?

You are equating humans and dogs?

Dude, don't bother. You're trying to have a rational discussion with someone ruled by emotion.

Yes, I am. We are all living creatures, are we not? I already know I will be in the minority opinion on this, but that is my opinion and I stand by my convictions. You are free to disagree.

Yes, I do. Meat from animals raised and slaughtered humanely. It's not something I am particularly proud of but I do my best to ensure that I don't support BigAg and their lack of humane methods of animal slaughter.
