Tell us the truth as you see it then. A contract was signed guaranteeing the bank repayment of the loan it made, with the house as collateral. What recourse does the bank have if that loan is not repaid?

She got a refinanced mortgage which the banks BEGGED her to take ... they needed debt to create "complicated financial instruments" to sell to suckers in Germany. Where have you been the past three years?

Bill, I think the bank should just eat the loss. It sucks, I know. When in business, you win some and you lose some. This one is going to be a loss .. for awhile.. this lady is not long for the world. The bank will get the house eventually. If the bank didn't like this, it shouldn't have given a woman in her 90s (or however old she was) a mortgage loan. Sometimes, a Democrat or two gets on the police force and refuses to enforce property rights at the expense of all decency and humanity.

its a good 1st step then its call in adult protective services get them properly housed and then go thru foreclosure procedure.
selective law enforcement is not new. 20 million illegals can attest to that.
any fat SUV driving middle age wasp that gets a ticket for 10 miles over the speed limit while a gangbanger went by at over 90 mph can attest to that.

The article doesn't give such details so there's no way to know the details from either the family nor the bank. Is it not possible that they took out a mortgage on the home to help pay medical bills and a family member who was the bread winner passed away. What would have been a morally right thing to do is to work with them to find a safe place for their health and medical needs and then remove them to such facilities or attempt to find family who would be able to take them in.

Anyone who reads these forums know that I support the elderly. I ADVOCATE for the elderly.

That having been said. No body is above the law. These people have been in court off and on for YEARS. They had plenty of time to make other living arrangements.

Sorry. The law is the law is the law. Nobody is above it. Not no how, not no way.

Republicans hate the poor. That's why. Occassionally you meet one who doesn't, just like occassionally you meet a Democrat who is pro-life. It happens, but for the most part, hating the poor is an essential plank in the Republican platform.

However, there is the possibility of dementia causing them to forget some thing from time to time.
