Well I don't know how old you are but the school lunch program was started in 1946. It may be that they did not offer it during your parents time.

I think a few of the libertarians on CD need to spend a week in their libertaian Eutopia...Somalia. Maybe they will gain a new perspective on the benefits of no govt.

and then go after the free meal program. make the parents prove the kids need the freebie. from what i have seen this program is very abused. it is based on filling out a form and no need for proof like a tax return.
The reduced meal program at schools is a small fraction of what we taxpayers gave to Wall St shysters.

And yet, conservos have their shorts in a knot over raising taxes on these very same crooks.

The DOJ spends a $121 million a year to feed their employees $16 muffins and $10 cookies. Of course you all don't have a problem in the world with that.

Yet you believe that the country is being destroyed by entitlements, when a poor kid from the ghetto gets a free $2 school lunch. This is just more of the rich are entitled and the poor are not.

Since children's attendance in school is required by law, it means that the government has excepted the responsibilities for educating children. Therefor the government should pay 100% of the cost. From transporting the kids to school, to the supplies the child needs, to free breakfasts and lunches for all students.

Second, studies have shown that kids don't learn very well when they are hungry. Which is the main reason that school breakfast and lunch programs where established in the first place. School meals are a legitimate expense for properly educating students.

Hey, here is an ideal thought. Let's void that billion dollar annual payment to Pakistan when it's obvious that they are hoarding terrorist and shooting at U.S. troops across the border! Let's stop spending billions on building aircraft carriers when we already have 12 and the rest of the world's armed forces combined don't even have 6. Do we really need another B2 bomber or billion dollar per plane F22? If we are serious about cutting spending, let's make some real cuts instead of picking on a paltry free lunch program that is costing us literally nothing compared to the rest of the stupid sh*t our country spends money on. Let's start with cutting free meals, haircuts, travel, healthcare, parking and housing for Congress first.

Yep, everybody would let the town burn down... We need government or people would be TOTALLY indifferent to fire.

Being a Congressman should NOT be a career.

?????

LOL

Same argument as roads..

Hey! you forgot the internet one!!

People are so silly... Let's all be pretentious and act like we wouldn't have roads, police, fire dept., parks and air traffic controllers if there was no government.
This....THIS...my friends..is rich. I mean, so rich. So...oh, just forget it.

I'm looking for a high enough roof around here to jump off of and just end it all.

Also I believe in drug testing for food stamps and welfare. Working people have to get them. Why shouldn't someone getting a check.

How about having the parents that are getting free lunch (welfare) work in the cafeteria preparing the food?
