Also keep in mind that once you've been out of work for more than a year you don't statistically exist anymore.

So... if you are out of work more than a year you are NOT out of work in these statistics that give you 8.6%.
The real unemployment rate according to economists is about 16% and the inflation rate is near 11%.
We've had huge numbers of unemployed people drop off he statics though they still have zero work.

We are seeing the traditional election years manipulation of the numbers.
Plenty of Republicans will go along with this as well because the incumbants want their power and reelection as well.
Best all those types on both sides hit the road IMO.

All the Democrats are with Obama and they are 100% one world government socialists IMO. They all have to go.

About half the Republicans have to go because they would allow the socialists Democrats to destroy us in exchange for remaining in power.
The other half of the Republicans are not bad.

So we need to get rid of 100% of Democrats who want us to become socialist like Europe.
We need to get rid of 50% of the Republicans that would meet in the middle with Democrats so we can become Greece.

That is where we are at.

I have no idea about your math skills, but I can guess. I see where reading comprehension and spelling is difficult for you. That is why the poster added the colorization to try to help you out. I doubt you will acknowledge that you misunderstood the post and own up to it, as usual.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics doesn't fudge employment numbers at the request of the White House.

What this shows is that the economy is slowly improving. It still isn't anything near the Clinton employment numbers of an average gain of 250,000 per month but it's sure better than the last year of the Bush years.
You Do realize that the numbers....even at over 9% are inaccurate don't you? The bureau of labor statistics does not include the people who have run OUT of unemployment benefits in their analysis. There are people who no longer receive unemployment at all and who have gone over to the welfare roles.

I would guess...no real proof mind you.....but I would think that a figure of 15% unemployment...when you count those who have run out of benefits and no longer receive unemployment...is much closer to the truth than 8.6%.

The simple truth of the matter is that unemployment hasn't been this high for this long since the great depression...And as much as Obama and his minions would like to blame the Bush administration for all of their woes, the facts are that obama has been a ineffectual leader, and his policies and propensity to initiate bailouts to stimulate the economy are an abject failure.

There has not been a more ineffectual president since Carter....and isn't it funny? Both are democrats. That should be a HINT to all that the left wing philosophy is a recipe for disaster in the United States. The sooner obama is relegated to the status of FORMER president of the United States, then the sooner this country can get back on track.

From the link on post #34:

Also supporting the improving labor market tone, a broad measure of unemployment that includes people who want to work but have stopped looking and those working only part time but who want more work dropped to a 2-1/2 year low of 15.6 percent in November from 16.2 percent in October.
U.S. jobless rate drops to 2-1/2 year low | Reuters
Then, your propensity to blame "Obama's policies" is clearly misdirected. If we review the chart on post #3, below, we can see that 2008 during Bush the nation had negative job growth for the whole year -- at a job loss of millions. That loss continues but declines rapidly until March 2010, when there are small job gains. Mind you, this is a time when the GOP is resisting every plan Obama proposes. Obama's economic stimulus, should have been much bigger but was politically reduced and much was traded for tax-cuts to win GOP votes (which Obama never got.) Nevertheless, the stimulus; the auto bailout first initiated under Bush and expanded under Obama, had the effect of mitigating further losses.

Had any of the GOP candidates running today been president, according to their words they would have responded by instituting fiscal austerity which would have had the effect of worsening the economy by contracting it, instead of expanding it.

Hi, have any adjusted charts for the unemployed that fell off the statistics after a year?

If you don't like the UE calculation that has been used for decades, choose one of the other 5 that may fit your bias better. Simple solution for you.
