Welfare should be completely cut. Defense spending should be boosted because it's an investment in the country's security and future.

this sentence in the article really annoyed me:

At this point the two aren't being charged with crimes. The federal suit filed is only looking to recoup the bilked money. (end)

really?? if you rob a bank will they just let you pay the stolen money back and not charge you? if you rob a judge, can you just pay the money back and not go to jail?

the feds are a useless bunch-both in the amount of time these losers got away with the fraud and the fact that they aren't being prosecuted.

what's that about?

the rule of law is just about gone now, and this country will just keep failing if it isn't re-established.

here's a clue-bad guys, top to bottom, need to go to jail.

Wow. The person's clearly been taking lessons from our bankers about how to scam the system.

A deliberate scam.

Wonder how involved her partner/husband (???) is in this. Did they have separate accounts and he never bothered to ask exactly where her money came from, or what?
Apparently she claimed single on her taxes so that she would be better able to qualify. I'm not sure if they are in fact married or not. He is a chiropractor that lists his status as "happily married with two children".

I do not understand why they are not facing criminal charges for purposely defrauding the government while they took trips to Paris, Turkey, the Dominican Republic, Israel, and Moscow and drove expensive cars including at least one jaguar.

There are indeed millions. Unfortunately, it's not just welfare fraud. There is fraud waste and abuse in every agency in our government from the IRS, Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare. The few hand full of tax payers left in this country are being defrauded at every turn. Our government implements these programs and then turn a blind eye to every single one of them.

It sounds like the couple are pretty well off. This is an example of redistribution to the top % via scam.

We need more details. Was the husband/partner (who knows?) in on the scam? Or was he supporting her and her 2 kids while she was running a scam without his knowledge?

Incredibly stupid thing to do if he was in on it. That would totally ruin his professional reputation.

She did the same thing many, many women do in Texas. Do not marry, report just enough to qualify, do not reveal a s o or count the income of the man in their lives.

We had a lady trying her best to get one of the (required) affordable units. When verifying incomes she had $80,000 in the bank and was receiving $3,000/month in child support. When we told her that she was WELL over the limit she said "hold on, let me get back to you."

About a week went by and she came back in with all sorts of new documents where she had moved money around and even tried to get a lawyer to vouch that her $3,000 month was used solely for her 3 kids.

Yup, she wanted the government to pay for her $1500/month apartment and was more than willing to scramble to get it.

And the left still swears up and down there are no welfare queens in Cadillacs (which she happen to be driving a hybrid Escalade).

Because every day he gets dressed in his torn dirty clothing and stands on street corners with a "Homeless please help" sign and probably rakes in about 10 grand a month. Yea I'm bitter.
