I think if you have mandatory carbon caps combined with a trading system, and if you have a tax-incentive program for investing in the solutions, that there's a package there that's very, very good. And frankly, it's something I would strongly support.
Of course that was two years ago when Newt was sitting on the sidelines, knowing he couldn't win in '08 and scamming the party in his "big ideas for conservatives" phase.

Ah yes, Newt Gingrich, he changes postions as often as he changes wives.

Maybe thats because the founder of the Cap and Trade system admitted to a calculation mistake in his spreadsheets.

Hot Air » Blog Archive » On second thought, GOP cap-and-trade cost estimates on the money

Its not difficult for anyone to see how someone might support a cap and trade system that cost $215 per family and then oppose it when facts turn out that the true cost is $3,128 per family.

But hey, never let facts get in the way of a good rant....

Newt belongs in a funny farm. I've never seen anyone as certifiable as he is, flip flopping on everything as if there is no public memory of his statements. Pure Rovian "Big Lie" tactics, i.e., say anything, no matter how bogus, get the big media splash, because the truth squad that comes in later to point out the true facts won't get as big a media splash. Folks, when Newt opens his mouth, close your ears. Wouldn't hurt to close your eyes either.

So the fact that the founder of the cap/trade made a mathmatical calculation showing the cost is 10 times what it originally was, means Newt "flip flopped".. typical liberal, facts mean nothing, its got to be the conservative....

Okkkkkkk. Facts are facts.....Both Romney AND Newt are like live fish just pulled aboard. The question then is, since it's anyone but Obama anyway, Does it really matter? They're both better than O. But I do think Newt would smack Obama around like Bam Bam from the Flinstones is any debate.
