My wife, as a project manager and consultant in IT, sometimes acts as a hiring manager. She is presented with resumes of nobody but Indians and is told that she can't hire anyone non-Indian that she might know - and often these Indians present resumes that are full of embellishments and outright lies. For every one person who is competent at the job responsibiities, there are two or three who have not an iota of an inkling of what they are supposed to be doing. They are hired simply because they fit a stereotype of what an IT worker is supposed to be, and they spend most of their time being trained for the work. Again, I state, American workers are just as able and qualified as these Indian H1Bs.....though the Indians will work for less money and take more crap on the job because they know the company can nuke them for no reason whatsoever and just get another H1B.
Thats sad. What would be a logical reason to hire just Indians? Why not IT workers from all over the world if the only desire is to pay them less? However H1B visas can not legally be provided to people whose salaries substantially undercut the average salaries of native born Americans. If a visa holder is found to be in violation of that stipulation they will soon find themselves out of a job. If the immigrants at your wife's company don't know that fact they are in for a painful surprise from the INS or they simply don't plan on staying in the U.S. for long.

A logical reason? I honestly have no idea. I just know that I hear this all the time from her, and indeed, she has nothing but Indians on her teams (except for the occasional Pakistani or Sri Lankan or Middle East-raised South Asian).
The USA has never been peaceful and cohesive because of what has been done to people. Slavery, genocide of Native Americans. It would be more peaceful if people had been treated better to begin with.
Yes, the things you said are true, but it has been true for most of the human race for most of its history.
Treating everyone as Americans would be even better.
