He'll serve 11 months and then next December, after O has lost re-election, he'll issue a quiet pardon sometime around Christmas Eve when noone is watching. Chicago thugs always stick together.

Elected officials should be held to a higher standard of conduct. If not, we're practically inviting them to steal. Fourteen years sounds about right to me -IF he serves at least 85% of his sentence.

James Trafficant served 7 of 10 years of his sentence so Blago will probally serve at least 10 of his.

But I know he wont serve anywhere near 14 years so in the end, it'll probably be fair.
Blagojevich followed Governor George Ryan (R) who was probably the most corrupt governor in Illinois history, who also ended up in jail for a scheme involving selling licenses to unqualified truck drivers in return for bribes and campaign contributions (among other things). One of these unqualified truckers was involved in a deadly crash which killed six children. Blagojevich campaigned as a reformer, knowing full well the damage that Ryan's corruption had wreaked on the state. I would have no problem seeing him serve the full sentence, though I'm sure you're right, he won't. I definitely don't see Obama pardoning him, however.
