This thread is stupid in so many ways it makes my head hurt.

1. Nobody said Obama personally shot Bin Laden. All he did was green light the mission that killed him - nothing more, nothing less. He gets some credit for it, but he's not Rambo.

2. No President can ensure that every piece of military equipment will never be damaged or lost during war operations over hostile terrain. Technology is not perfect, and it will always happen.

3. The most legitimate criticism of this situation is whether the President should have ordered some sort of a remote missile strike into Iran to destroy the drone. But understand that there is a serious risk that if you start firing missiles into Iran, it quickly escalates out of control and you end up with a real war on your hands - US troops are not far away for conventional Iranian weapons.

Odd that the drone Iran claims it shot down has no sign of damage
Also strange that if the plane landed due to mechanical failure it couldnt have glided to the other side of the border as Iran claims it retrieved the plane on its eastern border.
I think this plane is some kind of Trojan horse and was meant to be captured by the Iranians.
I'm thinking the Iranians just got a whole bunch of mis information or one major computer virus once they plug their equipment into the planes electronics...

Iran: U.S. cannot have its drone back - CBS News

If this were Bush, the media would be up his derriere instead of giving him a pass for handing the drone to the Iranians, Chinese and Russians.

Bush would not have been smart enough to ask, he would have sent 100 Navy Seals and other special forces to get it back until he realized that he sent them to the wrong country

That's just a traditional part of diplomacy. The Soviets did the same thing, as did the Chinese and Taiwanese. It happens from time to time.
North Korea has caved in more than once when the South Koreans made similar demands.

Asking for a piece of equipment back is a standard diplomatic first step. After a denial, events can lead anywhere, or nowhere.

No doubt.

I can't believe how many stupid threads there are on this.

It's a freaking drone. It ain't like Obama gave Iran the Kardashians or something.
