There was a segment about this museum on a recent CBS News show, beautiful place! to the lady for putting her money to good use.

And if the tax code allows the wealthy to form foundations, donate their art to them and take huge deductions for those 'donations' it's the fault of the tax code, not the wealthy.

More proof that no good deed goes unpunished.

The arrogance of criticising Arkansas. Did you all know that is where the toothbrush was invented?

It's a cool museum. The Eleven Restaurant at the museum has great food, and $2 beers.

It's funny to read the articles that criticize the museum because it's in the middle of America.

Admission to the museum is and will always be free. It's not just an attraction to the area, but also a tremendous resource. It's extensive art library is open to the public. And several generous donations have been to endow educational programs for children and adults.

Yes, because if it were invented anywhere else it would have been called 'teethbrush.

So does a crucifix in a bucket of pee count as art there? Or is that a NYC thing?

I wholeheartedly agree! Why would someone waste a museum on hayseeds? If you want to have a "folk art" museum of old lady crafts or something ... sure, put it in hicksville out of the way of the real America. A museum like this, however, belongs somewhere it will be appreciated.

Some of Bank of America's bailout money could have been used to build this museum in Connecticut where it belongs.

Perhaps it's not too late. Maybe the government can confiscate this museum and relocate it. (I personally prefer San Fransisco, but Connecticut can work too.) This is what happens when you let hicks keep their money.
