Put up a windmill in your back yard an open fire. I though green energy was supposed to save all the critters? I guess not.

A draft regulation first filed in April would allow businesses to apply for 30-year permits allowing them to kill bald eagles in the course of other legal activities. The length of those permits would be a six-fold increase over the five-year window allowed under current law.
The USFWS explains at FederalRegister.gov:
We have reviewed applications from proponents of renewable energy projects, such as wind and solar power facilities, for programmatic permits to authorize eagle take that may result from both the construction and ongoing operations of renewable energy projects. During our review, it became evident that the 5-year term limit imposed by the 2009 regulations (see 50 CFR 22.26(h)) needed to be extended to better correspond to the timeframe of renewable energy projects.

Of course if your just some pesky citizen good luck dealing with an animal declared protected by big brudder.............learn to live with it you worthless citizen but make sure you pay your damn taxes.

At the center of a local government's inability to cope with the feral ducks is a federal rule that went into effect in 2010. The regulation placed the Muscovy ducks on a list of federally protected birds. The rule is being cited by many local governments around the state, including Oakland Park, as the reason their hands are tied.
The ducks are considered non-natives to Florida and invasive, so simply picking up the ducks and moving them somewhere else into the wild is prohibited. Landowners or local governments, however, can trap and destroy them, but they must do it in a "humane" fashion and must follow local anti-cruelty laws.
Oakland Park Mayor Anne E. Sallee said she recently received a complaint from the neighbors threatening to band together and stop paying their taxes unless the ducks are removed.
"The city has looked at it, but unfortunately there's not a lot we can do," Sallee said. "It's like the problem with iguanas and critters. You just have to learn to live with it."

That's pretty sick. Wind energy doesn't have much promise anyway; more of a gimmick in the big picture. Give me a bald eagle over a windmill.

The figures on birds killed is outrageous. Here in Cali, raptors and hawks (some on the ES list) are being massacred. Did you know that to provide all the electricity this country needs would require the entire state of Missouri be blanketed with rotors?

Natural gas and solar solutions are the best and safest alternative (green) source of energy.

meanwhile the Bammer oil-hating-gestapo will fine any oil company tens of thousands of dollars if a single bird is found dead on their land.
