CEO pay jumps 36.5% - Dec. 15, 2011

A few highlights:

Quote:
After two years of lower pay packages, chief executives at the nation's major companies enjoyed a 36.5% jump in pay last year, according to a leading survey of CEO compensation.
................
The most lucrative sector for CEO pay was health care, which included three of the nine top-paid executives, including the two most lucrative packages:
................
GMI also said Hammergen exercised more than 3.3 million stock options during the year, netting him $112 million. His retirement benefits also grew in value by $13.5 million. And, GMI added, his severance package would be worth $469 million if he were fired.
This is sickening. How does it feel that you are busting your arse so Mr. Head Honcho can make more in year than most of will in several lifetimes? And the most lucrative is healthcare? No wonder healthcare costs are spiking. And the good old golden parachutes. Us normal folk screw up, we're fired, risk homelessness, etc. $469 million to be fired? The dumbarses that approved that package should be shot out of a cannon into a pool of starving great whites. Seriously, greed has destroyed this country and it yet we don't learn.

Ok, justify it then. When the very workers they are CEO of are losing pay, losing jobs, how does the CEO deserve one extra penny? Oh I get it, they are Job Creators. Oh wait, they aren't hiring. Oh I know, they work harder then their employees. Oh wait, that's not it either. They have more on the line. Oh wait, they lose their job they hit the jackpot. It's sickening and immoral, borderline criminal.

How do you think health insurance CEOs get to be billionaires?

You pay into your expensive private healthcare plan for years, but when the day comes when you need to use it, the company will frequently concoct a reason to deny your claim so they can pocket the money. And when you die from lack of healthcare they don't have to pay you anything.

Watch the movie Sicko. Private healthcare insurance is the biggest scam in the US since credit default swaps.

Look I'd have no problem with CEO's making big money if the very employees who work for them, and make the company successful, bring in the customers, the profits, etc, also recieved the same. CEO gets 36% raise? Then why the hell didn't the employees who made this possible get their 36% raise? Greed, pure and simple.

They want it and believe government should intervene to get it for them.

That's okay. If their pay went up that much, it must mean that they're harder working than us. (because hard work always leads to riches) As it is, these people are our betters. They are smarter, harder working and are more valuable than us. We--the middle class, are lazy and contribute much less. Therefore the uber rich deserve our respect and unwavering worship.
<sarcasm>

Honestly I don't think much about it but I doubt these guys are worth the level of pay that evidently the market deems they are worth.
