News Flash...December 2010..House=Dem, Senate=Dem and Obama DIDN'T veto those Bush tax cuts extension.

All Dem and he threatened veto against his own party and backed down.
Even added a tax cut of his own to that extension (payroll tax cut).

Imagine how afraid and wimpy Obama would be if the Republicans were the majority in Congress ?
Where's old Harry Reid now and his table full of dust gathering bills he refuses to address ?

The truly terrifying thing about this whole pipeline issue to me.... those who oppose it, will be the first in line wanting to know how to get hired when they need a job and see how it can change lives when the line goes through their town. We see it every day. Every morning we have hundreds show up at the office begging (and yes.. I do mean begging!) to go to work. People camping out in their cars, just looking for an in... yet they were doing their best to stop it previously... sad.. just sad...

That vote was in January when the GOP/tea party took over the house. That was their #1 agenda to ram through 858 billion dollars in new unpaid for spending to keep bankrolling the rich.
This is a perfect example of what the GOP is doing now by offering up a slice, but want the whole pie in return.
Obama needs to veto this GOP pork laden trash if it makes it to his desk.

No, what Obama NEEDED to do was make the decision on the pipeline, either for or against, a few weeks ago. He made it the issue. It didn't need to be.

He did a while ago stating he's not touching the issue until next year when he gets a full report back on how much environmental damage it would do to the country.

The GOP instead is holding the middle class hostage to try and force it through now to do the bidding of their big oil cronies.

He's had three years of studies done, and his own state department gave the go ahead. What he did was put it off till after the election to garner votes. He was afraid to tick off two of his largest supporters. The typical democratic unions and the typical democratic environmentalists, who are on different sides of the fence. It's time to sh*t or get off the pot as my grandmother used to say....

No, that vote was before the end of the year because they were due to expire 12/31/2010.

Obama signed it into law 12/17/2010.
Nice try with the Jan 2011 and Repubs though.

But the bill passed overwhelmingly in the Senate and also got through the House, where angry Democrats eventually accepted what came to be seen as inevitable.

He's politicized the pipeline as he has everything else in his administration, and folks on his side of the aisle such as Sen. Feinstein are really upset that he's so standoffish and prefers to run around the country making tons of speeches, or to boss people around as he did in Illinois.
