Saying HH implies a superficiality that rivals the greeting, "hi how are you" when you could care less and certainly do not want to hear how a casual new stranger is feeling.

i broadcast that I'm a 'Merry Christmas' person who wishes to share my joy with others no matter what their religious beliefs. If I know someone is Jewish I offer them a religious specific greeting.

Actually Merry Christmas has been hijacked to imply a purely secular greeting while it may also be used to convey a joyous emotion to mark the birth of Christ. MC may have nothing to do with religion depending on intentions.

To discourage saying Merry Christmas is to destroy our culture as the taliabn did when they took over Afganastan and began to destroy all ancient artifacts that marked a culture they wished to replace. As the Spanish did when they conquered the Aztecs and Mayans.

I simply respond to either greeting with "And to you".

The greeter can take that however they want.

What a true piece of self hate you portray yourself to be.

No one could possibly be happy unless they agree with your myopic vision of how things should. They can't express well wishes for you without encountering your monumental ego and vindictiveness.

You portray yourself as a true sphincter.

Can't say that I am surprised though.

It would appear that some people just look for ways to be insulted, whether insult was intended or not.

I guess some people need to be whiny to be happy.

Happy Holidays, whatever they are.

I usually say "Merry Christmas".

I receive wishes of "Merry"-this or "Happy"-that graciously, as one should receive well-wishes genuinely offered.

I am not a Christian, so I say "Happy Holidays" or "Season's Greetings!"

Don't say anything. Wait for others to greet first, then reply likewise.

I'll say "Merry Christmas" until the PC police raid my home and drag me away.

Why not say, I wish you the best?

LOL. I'm Christian, a shunned religion here in America so I best keep to myself for fear of retribution against all the ills Christians did in the history of mankind.
