Have you been drinking to much eggnog with whiskey!! This is just out there.
Sorry... egg nog is a bit too Christmas-y for me. I drink whiskey secular sours with an atheist ale chaser. And yes, I've been pounding them! Happy Holidays!
You must mean Jewish ethnic food because, excluding meat and seafood, about 80% of the items sold in all national chains are certified kosher.

It is legal because the Salvation Army is a religious institution.

During the Christian Holiday season, the sets are overflowing with poinsettas and red and green, or similar themed, bunting, while during the Jewish Holiday period, not even some white flowers and blue and white bunting.
I call Chanukah a fairy tale - now how do you feel?
Without Chanukah, there would not have been a Jesus of Nazareth.

From a Jewish perspective, the celebration of Christmas violates the Second Mitzvah (Commandment) prohibition against the worship of other than the one, true and indivisible G-d.

Only in the sense it is a day off. There is no federal requirement to celebrate the day in any specific way.

Red/green or poinsettas have no basis in Christian faith...they are what retailers(many of whom were non-Christians) decided represented the Christmas season! In fact the advent season for Cathlolics(the first Christians) are pink and purple!Christians make-up over 85% of U.S. citizens... majority rules in a democratic country!I don't live in Israel and complain I don't see the Navity anywhere!
Chanukah is probably one of the best known Jewish holidays, not because of any great religious significance, but because of its proximity to Christmas. Many non-Jews (and even many assimilated Jews) think of this holiday as the Jewish Christmas, adopting many of the Christmas customs, such as elaborate gift-giving and decoration. It is bitterly ironic that this holiday, which has its roots in a revolution against assimilation and the suppression of Jewish religion, has become the most assimilated, secular holiday on the Jewish calendar.
I say "Happy Holidays" because although I am Christian, is it really killing me to extend the beliefs of peace that I am supposed to have by being inclusionary to anyone I say a greeting to? And in this day and age, when people are so terribly rude so much of the time, when someone takes the time to say, "Happy Holidays" to me, I smile and wish them the same.
I'm not a Christian. But I still say "Merry Christmas" to people because everything essentially revolves around Christmas during this season.
The Christmas season seems to begin earlier and earlier with each passing year. Most people don't care nearly as much about any of the other holidays. And it makes no sense to pretend otherwise.
