I'm not in the business of supporting glorified McDonald's. I'm not a health nut, but at the same time I'm not a big fan of franchises that serve up chicken nuggets. Same goes for Applebees and any of those bland restaurants.
I live in Chicago, so I'm kinda spoiled with our independent restaurants.
Difference being that a heterosexual is not attracted to someone of the same gender (therefore, it can't be about love) whereas a homosexual IS attracted to someone of the same gender. Now, why did you say they shouldn't be allowed to marry someone of the same gender again?
As an evangelical, I just have to shake my head. I think this speaks to the shallowness of American Christianity more than anything else.
1. The martyrs and the saints died grisly deaths proclaiming the gospel to the Roman Empire...
2. The monks, nuns and friars of the Middle Ages died to themselves to be closer to God...
3. The great theologians (Augustine, Luther, Calvin, Aquinas) wracked their brains attempting to discover truths about God
4. Missionaries around the world today sacrifice creature comforts and in some cases, their personal safety for their faith.
And American Christians? We gorge on chicken sandwiches and milk shakes and pat ourselves on the back for "standing up for Jesus", when the issue in question has little to do with the gospel message--the message that has been at the heart of Christianity for 2000 years.

Does the state make people swear upon penalty of perjury that they're in love before getting married ?
These constant changes in what Civil marriage means are hard to follow. Earlier I read, maybe not from you, that people in love can get a religious marriage, why bother with a Civil marriage if the gov't recognition isn't an important part of marriage. For that matter, people can say, Shazam, we're married.
We know that people get Civil marriages for reasons other than love or 'attraction.' Why not any gender of any sexual orientation ?
BTW, I've never said ssm shouldn't be allowed. You probably assume I oppose ssm because I think some of the arguments for it are feeble and some against it are, to use your word, 'justifiable.' Recognizing the 'validity' of why someone might oppose ssm is a big nono among most supporters.
Mac tell me about it. These people aren't Christian. Neither are racists of either color.
I've heard a rumor that gays might have a flash mob customer kiss a thon right there in their dining rooms just to see homophobes throw tantrums on the floor.
I'm also wondering how many people will attend appreciation day by placing large bogus orders in the drive thru and drive off.
