Now that's just silly...anyone can pull a quote from the Bible and justify anything...it's called religious expression and he is free to do it how he choses.
Not to beleaguer the point, he is free to express himself however he chooses but that still doesn't make it OK as far as Christianity is concerned. God's law is not dependent on man's law.
I don't hate him. I just don't like people perverting the good religion of Christianity to achieve their own ends. The scriptures say it is wrong to make prideful displays of faith in public for show. I didn't make that up. Jesus said it himself.
Here's how I look at it. Matthew 5:13-16 talks about "letting your light shine", in the sense of letting your faith and love shine through you like a beacon. Matthew 6:1, 5-6 goes on to talk about the hypocrisy of public displays of faith. I think what Christ was trying to tell us is that actions are so much more powerful and important than words and displays--you can attend church every Sunday, shout prayers to skies, but unless you have Christ's love in your heart toward others it means nothing. Unless you live your life with the love and compassion that Jesus taught us, and act on that love and compassion, the displays of faith are completely empty.
If you love God, then honor him by living a caring, kind, compassionate, giving life--that's what matters. I'm really uncomfortable with these huge public displays of "faith," because they just don't ring true to me. I think Jesus cares about feeding hungry kids and treating others with kindness, and he could care less if you're bowing on a football field because your team is winning. What does winning a football game have to do with getting closer to God through love?

Truer words have never been spoken. Thanks and God bless.
Tebow prays! Woopdie, freaking, doo! I'm sure that he prays in private, just as he prays in public. But he's a football player, not a government official. He prays before he plays, and his team was terrible before he started playing. So my opinion of Tebow............ WINNING!!!!!!!!
