Can't handle dead children? (Neither can I)
AND TO IMAGINE THAT PEOPLE DO THIS TO CHILDREN ON PURPOSE!
Madness.

Did they pull a Santorum, bring it home, introduce it to the kids, and sing songs to it?

Father First, Senator Second (washingtonpost.com)

Quote:
Named for two archangels, Gabriel Michael was born prematurely, at 20 weeks, on Oct. 11, 1996, and lived two hours outside the womb. Upon their son's death, Rick and Karen Santorum opted not to bring his body to a funeral home. Instead, they bundled him in a blanket and drove him to Karen's parents' home in Pittsburgh. There, they spent several hours kissing and cuddling Gabriel with his three siblings, ages 6, 4 and 1 1/2. They took photos, sang lullabies in his ear and held a private Mass.

Liberals push abortion? Promoting abortion rights and promoting abortion are not the same.

I didn't even know she was pregnant. As a liberal, I'm not offended by the photos. It's somewhat morbid, but that's their business. Has this been reported in the mainstream, like CNN or Fox...or is this a internet story?

I don't really percieve this as a left/right thing.
I don't really have a problem with a family photographing a deceased child/fetus-whatever word you want to use. It seems like an acceptable form of expressing grief- the kind of grief I hope I never know. There is a photo service called "Now I lay me down to sleep" that provides this type of session for many, many familes. Names, photos, etc are all these families have to remember their child for their entire lifetime.
I would have kept the privacy of the photos more guarded myself.

And yes, it is VERY possible to love a child you have never met. I would think it more odd for a woman to NOT feel love for the child in her body.

Agree to disagre is acceptable. However i see this as not a Left, or Right thing. I see this more as a human thing. A much needed emotion and expression in the way to say good-by.

And how one chooses to say good by to a loved one or a fetus is their business, and no one else. Whether we agree or not, feel they have too many children, or not enough, is not the issue.

The issue is how they said good by to ths fetus. Again unless we walk in their shoes, who are we to judge, and are we all the jury.

Expressing grief is done in many ways, odd ways, and some memaninful ways, ways we agree with and ways we can't comprehend.

Love is a very special thing, you can love a fetus from inside, because it is part of you and who you love, it is a very special bond, that only a Mother can understand.

I know people who have lost children, actually quite a few. They each handled the death of the child, or baby, differently and in their own way.

The picture i saw was very tasteful, nothing bad about that picture. Ever hear the old expression, Love is Blind, Love is Strange!

It is their right, whether we agree or disagree. In this case, i feel because the Duggars have so many children already, and the age of the Mother, this is clouding judgement.

Well the Duggers lost their first child to miscarriage. That is the reason they promised God they would accept as many children as He let them have.

Back when they experienced their first miscarriage they didn't have the means to photograph the baby, I never heard of places that did that until now. We have a lot of up to date science on how we can see fetuses and miscarriages, etc. We know a lot more about grieving and they chose to do this which is available to them now. I think more people will be doing this now that it is accepted and we can do it. IMO it is far better than some things that can be done now.
