Because conservatives at the very core of their being are racist. They will never admit it but they let it be known all the time because thats the way weak insecure people operate.
What a sad little blanket statement. You accuse a group of people of all acting the same way while you act the way you accuse that group of people acting.
As for Kwanzaa...who cares when it was started. Does it make people happy? Then what difference does it make to anyone who doesn't like it?
This is one link that i'm simply not going to read because it's DUMB!!
In America, we have the luxury to live and let live. Pick better fights dude. You can't win this one. No one is making you observe Kwanzaa, so leave the folks alone that want to celebrate it.
And that's Desert's advice for the day. Take it and prosper, or ignore it and take an aspirin.
Ah yes, the "ignorance is bliss" argument. Enjoy your fate.
Didn't say I was going to celebrate it and AGAIN if you read my posts, I say distinctly that I would never tell anyone how to celebrate their own holiday.
I hope Kwanzaa brings you a nice crowbar to remove the undies that you seem to have in a wad too. Have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful peaceful Kwanzaa too.
Cinco De mayo is getting bigger every year. My friends and family and I celebrate it and none of us are even a little Spanish
Thats fine. Why do you celebrate it though? For its revolutionary spirit? Or for its tequila shots. Its like saying the Irish celebrate St Patricks day because of being Irish. When in fact its just another excuse to go booze. in the end its all BS.
I hope you have a few spare days to read, enemy. With an opening like that, you're likely to get a lot of commentary.
Normally I would agree with you, but it seems like the usual angry race baiters have been off the grid for a week or so (you know who I'm talking about). Perhaps it's the Christmas spirit, who knows, all I know it's been less hostile around here lately, relatively speaking of course.
People are free to celebrate what they want to celebrate, but at the very least, I wish those that celebrate Kwanzaa could at least explain the history, reasoning and values of the holiday.
Case in point....I heard a little girl in the mall calling a Christmas Tree a "Kwanny Bush". Sorry, there is no such thing as "Kwanny Bush". Don't highjack other holidays and take bits and pieces, then change them. Have your own holiday, enjoy it and please teach your kids what and why you are celebrating.

That's unreasonable.
The Kwanzaa observers shouldn't explain anything. If you want to know about it, then you should seek the answers you need to satisfy your curiosity.
And if a little girl referred to a Christmas Tree as a Kwanny Bush, that seems pretty harmless. Were any animals killed in the commision of her saying that?
All of these holidays are "hijacked" from some other faith. If that's your criteria, then Goodbye Christmas!
Kwanzaa is just another attempt for Black Americans to find themselves. I don't think I've met a person that actually celebrates it though. It has no foundation in any African religion either.
I've never known one black person that celebrates the made up holiday.
