Don't get me wrong, they should still negotiate in good faith but if Republicans are going to block anything and everything then just let it expire. The American people aren't stupid...they know who's holding everything up at this point and who they are holding it up for. Just let the people know options 1, 2 and 3 which were all shot down by Republicans and let the people respond with their vote. I'd be willing to bet more people will fault the small group of Republicans who are willing to take everyone down in their war to accomplish nothing while Obama is in office.

Thats' what they should do. The last thing Americans want do is is let politicians mettle with the revenue stream from Social Security.

This plays right into the GOP hands as they want the program to fail so they can use the deficit as an excuse to cut middle class benefits.

1) Harry Reid is blocking the full year extention of the payroll tax cut. The House passed the provision, including a real jobs program via Keystone. Why don't the Demcrates want jobs and a full year tax relief for the middle class?

2) American's greatly seem to ignore that this puts Medicare further down the road toward insolvency. Seems a significant collecting Medicare are part of the middle class and have been paying into the system for decades.

So, why do Harry Reid and Obama want to destroy Medicare?

You can only rob Peter to pay Pual for so long. The people are fed up. If Harry Reid wanted to cooperate 900+ days ago and actually pass a balanced budget this may have already been paid for and not happening. Harry Reid is the obstructionist in chief for Obama's platform of running against Congress. It does not benefit Obama if Reid & Co. actually put this country before the Obama agenda.

Frankly I'd like to see it expire and force Congress to CUT SPENDING & BALANCE THE BUDGET NOW!

I'd suggest following the news better. It just passed the senate and Boehner is shooting it down.
It proves again beyond any doubt the GOP does not give a damn in the slightest about the middle class, only catering to the rich and the their corporate cronies.

My kids cried and moaned when I took a tough stance. Later they said "I'm glad you were hard on me, dad.".

I hope Obama continues to do the same. The GOP are acting like a bunch of spoiled brat 3 year olds that need a spanking.

Not a chance. Barack Obama is finished. Feel free to bookmark this thread if you feel that i'll be eating crow in November 2012. I'm confident that I won't be.

Whether you hate the GOP or not, the fact of the matter is that Barack Obama brings nothing to the table, and is hemoraging votes because of it. He's done.

I am not an Obama supporter myself-----that being said he is by far---not done.

This is a suprisingly weak assortment of Republican candidates that have lined up to challenge Obama. The only one that I think would have a chance to give Obama a run for his money is Romney.

Since the Repub. far right is going to do all they can to make sure Romney is not their nominee, this option seems remote.

If another strong repub candidate steps forward the pendulum can swing----if, and until that happens, the way the process is going----Obama is not done.

These two posts are a great comparison of what's going on with the GOP.

The type A) Frothing at the mouth, extreme right, Trump/Bachmann/Perry/Cain/Now Newt supporter with the: "The kenyan marxist communist rabble rabble obummer is going to be beat by huge numbers no matter what, because the GOP is AwEsoMe Yeeeeeeeee ha!

Vs. the type B) "real" conservative with: "See the type A. These type of individuals are ruining the party and are going to cost us the election."
