What a disgrace, two power outages on national TV. Is California this broke that they can't keep the lights on for a major sporting event?

No but evidently there is no shortage of stupid things for people to complain about as if they're important.

The sports guys said he stadium opened in (or about) 1960. During the pre-game you could see the transformer blow, just to the left of the ball park.

Boom Boom, out go the lights

Not really a stadium problem, just electrical malfunction.

They also said there would be a new stadium under construction soon about 40 miles down the road. To open about 2014, or so.

It might be time for the 49ers to move. I don't think football is that big with the demographics of the city anyway.

California is broke but I doubt that had anything to do with the transformer and outage. The state doesn't own the electic utilities does it?

I guess they don't have all those DC lobbyists making Millions bilking US taxpayers. Imagine Maryland without government greed and graft? It rank up their with Mississippi.

Why do you think we're moving to Santa Clara?

Candlestick is a beautiful park with a rich history, but the reality is that it's OLD. It also sits on one of the windiest, not to mention earthquake-prone, spots in San Francisco - probably explains the power outages, as it is the middle of December right now. One of my immediate family members works for the team (sr management level), and is at the game right now... I was hoping to be there too, but unfortunately didn't secure my seats in time. GO NINERS!!!!!
