Why?

If someone said that they were born a dog in a human body, and ran around pizzing on fire hydrants and licking their butt, they would be institutionalized.

Same difference, IMHO.

If a transgender is dressed in female attire, then the female restroom should be chosen. If the transgender is attracted to females, then doing that is no worse than a lesbian using the female restroom.

As a male I would not be comfortable in a male restroom in which someone is dressed as a woman.

"Do you think trangenders should be allowed to use the public bathroom that they chose?"

Wouldn't it depend on what gender they are dress to approximate? Of course if you are dressed as a woman, standing at the urinal could be unsettling otherwise what does it matter?

Exactly.....let me catch a pre op male TG coming out of a restroom that one of my daughters are also in and a sex change with a Buck knife is very likely to happen right on the spot.

I agree. If they have a sex change operation, then they can use the restroom for the opposite sex, but not before. That's the most fair way to handle it IMO.

Doesn't bother me, when I gotta go I go, don't care which gender is in the bathroom!

I personally knew a TG at work. He was male, beautiful face and I mean that. He dressed in ladies clothes and was wearing a bra. (post hormone/surgery, ect) I befriended him and he was really nice.

When it came time for him to use the Male dressing room, the men got upset and contacted HR. So HR told him to dress in the female dressing room and none of us ladies felt uncomfortable. (that I know of) He was required to undress behind the curtained partition.

Many people rejected him, they refused to talk to him. You would never see him hanging around guys after that. They called him a freak.

I liked him and I think back on it, I was one of the few people that would talk to him.

Mental illness? I am not sure. I never researched that...

He quietly dissapeared one day after work and I never saw him again.

Rumor had it, HR got rid of him.

Transsexuals that pass will use the bathroom of the sex they 'feel' they are. If a ts that looks like a woman used the mens room (and vice versa) it would raise some eyebrows.
