Why? "State citizens" are not expected to have the same freedoms that the founders wanted the federal government to extend to all Americans? Do you believe that bill of rights, or anything out of the US Constitution should only apply on federal land but nowhere else?

Actually you can. A lot of guys buy old tanks and restore them.

Other military vehicles are even easier to obtain. A deuce and a half starts at $1,000 at most online auctions. A troop transport will pop up every now and then also.

Steel Soldiers is a forum that covers restoration of military vehicles from Jeeps to tanks.

Turns out that a lot of things you may think are illegal are perfectly legal. Flamethrowers for example. For a $25 dollar membership you can get access to a forum that will provide instructions to build this:

Flamethrowers make for a great bear deterrent, but they are kind of rough on the surrounding scenery.

Actually that is a command by command decission. Some posts will allow you with a gun on post and some will not. Those that do, usually require you to transport it on base in a certain manner. Others will confiscate your firearm and give you a receipt and you are welcome to pick it up on your way out. One base, asked me if I had any firearms and I said yes. They asked what I had and I told them I had a .45. Their response shocked and ammused me... They said "Our guns are bigger. Keep yours put away", and let me on the base.... The main thing is NEVER deny having a firearm if you have one, on a Federal Installation when asked. (Some bases don't even ask)

anybody can have one.... as long as you are over 16, register it, have insurance on it, and pass a test to prove that you can use responsibly.

I've heard many times NRA lovers say "If everybody had a gun on them, it would make the World a better place"

Explain why is it that it is illegal to take guns into a military base.
Why is it illegal to bring a gun into a school?

Why is it illegal to bring a gun into a courthouse?

Why is it illegal to bring a gun into any prohibited place?

I can't come up with any reasonable answer. Can anyone provide some?

Why limit to guns? The constitution isn't very specific about what constitutes "arms". Now, start with trying to answer this: How would you take a person showing up at your house with arms?

These are all state and local statutes and not the federal gun laws.... To address them, you need to talk to your state attorney generals office initially and address your concerns, whatever they may be. The one exception is a federal court house.. You cannot take one there and that is a federal law.

Actually, the Founders discussed this very issue - it's in the Federalist Papers. They wanted the citizens to have the same guns as were the issue weapons of soldiers in a modern infantry. Soldiers in 1776 were each issued muskets, but not the large field pieces with exploding shells. In 1996, soldiers are issued M16s, M249s, etc. but not howitzers, and atomic bombs. Furthermore, according to your logic, the laws governing freedom of the press are only valid for newspapers whose presses are hand-operated and use fixed type. After all, no one in 1776 foresaw offset printing or electricity, let alone TV and satellite transmission.

actually, according to our founding fathers and documents, our rights are natural right given to us by God. the Bill of Rights are not there for the citizens, but for the central goverment to follow. hence the amendments should be followed and obeyed by the federal goverment as the highest law in the land.

it is illegal only because the state and federal law says so. if the feds and state did not say it, then I would not mind at all doing ccw into a public school where I have a child at.
