Except it does smell to someone that doesn't drink.

Has anyone ever died from smelling beer across a room? Yes, it smells if you stick your nose in it or in someone's face, but it doesn't harm you. Second hand smoke harms people around the smoker. Apples and oranges.

The anti-smoking freaks are incapable of understanding this. No point in trying to explain it.

At one time, non-smokers had no choice but to go to places where people were smoking. None whatsoever. There were people smoking at desks at work, in grocery stores, elevators, etc. It took government regulation to solve the problem.

I'm done with this argument. And thank god for government regulation because I don't have to smell smoke everywhere

.....and again why is it this decision is not left up to the owner of the business? There is no law that said they had to allow smoking.

As I posted previously if as a business owner I choose to cater to smokers why is it I can't do that?

Strange thing is I stand up for peoples rights for things that have absolutly no effect on me. Even if its just to keep the gvmt in check.

Yes, I remember those days. What I mentioned before, and will mention again, is that in TODAY'S world, very few places allow smoking even where government regulation on the matter does not exist.

Under this scenario you are fully aware that you will get sick, the only argument you can make is you are unable to make this decision for yourself.

Yes. That is the difference.

Prohibiting smoking in certain places is akin to outlawing fast food places, chips, candy, or soft drinks, not to restricting practices that cause food poisoning or contamination.
