Didn't take long for the tribes to start squaring off again. This is a prediction of what will likely happen in Afghanistan when we are thru playing with the fantasy of trying to compel people to resemble us.

We need to go back in there and take over. Hundreds killed and wounded. We pulled out in haste. It is still our responsibility to see that their troops are trained and security is maintained!

Wave of bombings in Iraqi capital kills 63, wounds 185 amid political unrest - CNN.com

* Of course a logical person does not believe this but the Republicans in Congress are saying we pulled out of Iraq in haste and said we need to train their troops to keep order. (The training we have been providing their troops since 2004 has been a waste in their eyes)

You can't train out the "My God is better than your God" BS, They've got their chance, if they blow it it's on them, NOT us.

Go back there? Have you learned nothing in the last 9 years? Their troops are trained and about to start fighting each other.

You are correct, let them resolve their Country, may the most powerful Dictator win. That is what they have always done. We see the "My God is Better than your God BS" here in the USA as well, just not as violently.

These cultures have been tribal since the beginning of time. Apparently they like it that way. I say let the Iraqis and the Afghanis govern, or not, any way they please.

Just because a myriad of tribes always at war with each other makes it more difficult to loot the natural resources is no excuse for any Western, of Eastern if they have any sense, powers to get involved with the Arabs, Iraqi or any other set of tribal politics. Not worth the effort because it will always costs the invaders more than the profit.

If Iraq has a full blown civil war and at the end thousands more die and a dictator takes over, does that mean the trillion we spent and the thousands of troops dead and injured were all a waste?

I guess so.

However, I reject the theory that we should have our troops stationed in Iraq forever. We are now out, and should stay out.

I do pity the poor average Iraqi citizen that is about to suffer hell on earth for the next couple of years.

Yep, it was bound to happen as soon as the US left, which is why we should have never went there.

Iraq is the US's biggest foreign policy blunder in its history.

Yep, all the Americans and Iraqis who died, and the trillions were a waste. Also, the focus on Iraq, while initially ignoring Afghanistan, probably will lead to the same outcome in Afghanistan.

The only thing the US got out of these wars is the patriot back and the ability of the government to suspend your constitutional rights.

Mission Accomplished.
