According to Michelle Obama’s press office, the first dog was planning to go to Hawaii with the first lady and the Obama daughters. The Associated Press reported that he in fact had made it there. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser quoted an eyewitness who said he had seen the Portuguese Water Dog having his walk.
So what is Bo doing back in Washington shopping at PetSmart?

Make fun if you want, but the fact is Obama used the dog as a stunt to whine about "average americans" losing $40. The WH published all sorts of sob stories about how folks would lose their heat, and their children would starve without that money.
But "average" Obama used his money to buy dog toys. Illustrating perfectly what a stunt the whole thing was. And what an out-of-touch buffoon Obama is.

There hasn't been a president in decades who didn't have a gaggle of reporters follow them out Christmas shopping. It happens ever year. And millions of Americans take their dogs to pet stores so the dogs can do their own shopping. So in that respect, Obama is just being an average American. I'm sorry that it annoys you so much that Bo was showing so much fiscal restraint that he only spent $41. When my dog shops he always blows a fifth dollar bill and he can't reach as high as Bo.

Unless he bought a diamond encrusted designer dog collar, and sterling silver dog dishes, I really don't think a trip to Petco for a toy, and some treats is going to be offensive to struggling Americans, especially considering America's deep and abiding love for canine companions.
