Ask Boehner and his baggies why they were the only ones holding out after a majority of Rs agreed to this. Was this holy grail to them?

Sorry but please show me where the Tea Party is referenced anywhere in that article. You're just making things up, big surprise there.

Actually it is, as the GOP were holding the middle class hostage again trying to force though their pork doing the bidding for big oil. These attacks and their unwillingness not to compromise at all is tanking their approval. A big thumbs up to the dems and Obama for not caving

Just wait until the programmers running the payroll systems have to sort this out. It will cost millions.

Agreed - Tea Party and Republicans are apparently two different animals.

I don't understand why they even drew a line in the sand anyway if they were just going to give up. Hopefully they got something for it.

Ultimately this is a show of who has the power - and right now its Obama, the Senate, and the media spinners - not that it helps Americans in the long run.

flip flopping all the way, Boner was for it before the teabaggers told him he was against it and after rove and company told him he was for it again. Wonder if he will cry when he gets it passed the house.

It's good that the House dropped this. There really was no need for it other than for Boehner and his buddies to pander to their hardcore supporters. It's just a small two-month extension, but their inability to compromise even on something this small and temporary is just symbolic of how messed up the entire Washington dynamic is. There was no reason for them to make such a big deal of this, and it doesn't limit any of their future options. In two months, we'll be right back in this situation again anyways.
