He happens to be entirely correct, as far as the bolded passage goes. What cancer is, or isn't can be debated till the cows come home but the treatment of cancer is a cash cow for big pharma. Cancer drugs are some of the most expensive drugs in existence and their efficacy is in most cases impossible to prove. Had cancer been a major killer of humanity 50 years ago it would have been
cured, or not. No one would be able to charge the equivalent of a 15 year mortgage for a palliative that at best added weeks of life and at worst did nothing at all. Humanity suffers from numerous maladies that are not being addressed by big pharma because they can't figure out how to drag out the treatment protocol and create a drug regimen for a simple condition. Even so, they block the introduction of alternative medicine in treatment plans because it will hurt their profits.
