Because homophobes have their own political party(GOP). Still cannot understand why some Gays support the GOP.
Because they don't want to be executed by commies or socialists? One of the biggest problems I see with small groups who feel slighted is that they seem to confuse indifference with hatred. See, homosexuals are a very small percentage of the population and when things don't go their way they scream oppression when the reality is that most people just don't really give a rat's behind.
Personally I tend to vote for individual items that are favorable to gay rights but there's no way in Hell I'd vote for a liberal communist because one claims to be for gay rights. I, like many people, don't vote for candidates or follow a particular party line because of trivial issues. And yes, gay rights issues are trivial. The reality is that gays already have the same rights as anyone else. While it's true that in most states same sex couples cannot marry (see how that majority rule democracy thing cherished by democrats works against minorities?) they do in fact have the right to marry the opposite sex. While it seems lob sided from the gay POV, it is in fact quite equal and exactly what the majority wants.
Perhaps some gays are smart enough to see past the BS?
It would be in your best interest to stop confusing Neocons with Conservatives. As hard as it may be for you to accept, the GOP has both liberals and conservatives. If you think even for a moment that gays or any other minority are the Democrat's top priority, I have a bridge you might be interested in.
I wouldn't be surprised a lot of homophobic guys also fear or resent themselves, like every time they feel aroused from seeing a cute faced guy or a well built, muscled one or whatever characteristics in guys happen to turn them on.
Um, I don't think that's accurate. Have you heard of the Middle East? If they find out you are Gay, you can be stoned on site. America is very tolerant of Gay's compared to them.
Are gays different or same as everyone else? For decades we were "told" gays are just like everyone else. But now, we have to have special laws "protecting" them? Why?
America is full of homophobes, those who openly declare their hatred for gays and those who keep it subtle, like in the closet.
Homophobes can smear gays with any epithets they desire, they will be defended. If homophobes are criticized they bristle with anger and indignation, such as 'how dare you criticize our righteousness!'
So why is this? Is homophobia a cherished American Family Value? Is hatred a cherished American Family Value? Maybe it is. Is a homophobe the ideal American citizen? The role model for others?
Why is that that homophobes regard gays as people with mental problems, but homophobia is not considered a mental problem?

well, considering even voting on the rights of a minority is unconstitutional what does prop unconstitutional matter. even being on the ballot wasn't constitutional. so.. why do non legal, non constitutional things matter to you?
You have got to be kidding! There are many people who do and say things that are unacceptable in modern society. Do you embrace an open racist for just being imperfect? Do you readily accept a child molester because he just happens to be different?
Remember, they are just people. Do you expect them to be perfect? Why can't you just accept people for what they are, imperfect beings?
You don't, now do you. You know why? Because these people tend to be despicable beings. They are criticized and attacked for actions that are hurtful and injurious to others.
It seems to me that homosexuals do NOT do things that are hurtful or injurious to others.
